A very precious asset of the distillery, the Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced with great care within the family Hacienda.
It is in Venezuela, in one of the high valleys of the hinterland, that the family distillery of this brand is located: Hacienda Santa Teresa. It is the oldest in the country. Its history dates back to 1796, when Count Tavor y Blanco received it as a gift from the King of Spain. It was not until its purchase by the Vollmer family that it produced rum.
Santa Teresa 1796 is made using the famous “Solera” method borrowed from the Spaniards.
This technical term designates a very particular method of topping up: imagine a pyramid of barrels, feeding each other, according to the principle of gravity: the highest barrels feed the lower barrels, and thus transmit their flavors to each other. Those in the last row, closest to the ground, will be the richest in flavor. These will be the first to be bottled.

TASTING: Tasting this 1796 presents great sweetness: notes of refreshing cane juice, coconut and honey blend harmoniously with those of chocolate, coffee and dried banana. The woody and smoky accents support this balanced whole.

This Grand Calvados from 1956 is the oldest vintage in the Coquerel collection. It was distilled and then aged for 60 years in French oak barrels in the family distillery before being bottled in July 2016 .

The distillery was founded in January 2022, between the sea and the fields in Gavray sur Sienne.

After studying food engineering, a stint in a distillery gave this young entrepreneur a leg up, and she then embarked on the Montjoie adventure. "I'm captivated by the distillation process and seduced by the distiller's almost unlimited creative possibilities, which allows us to offer flavors that take you to the other side of the world, or on the contrary, comfort you with aromas that are truly home."
Picked or purchased in season, the fruits and plants that make up the liqueurs share all their flavors with you thanks to the macerations adapted to each of them.

Our history


Originally, the choice of the name “Les Treize Assiettes” owes nothing to chance and has no link with the famous 13 desserts of the South of France.
The history dates back to a bygone era, between 1850 and 1900, when our establishment was called Hôtel de la Gare.
At that time, it played a central role as the terminus of the railway line linking Paris to Mont Saint Michel, thus becoming a true regional institution.
The Hôtel de la Gare was a popular stopover not only for pilgrims on their way to Mont Saint Michel but also for traders from the livestock market located behind the station.
These traders, astute businessmen, began their transactions at the start of the meal and did not conclude them until the end of the day.
It was in this lively context that Father Arthur, then owner of the premises, had the ingenious idea of punctuating these negotiations by introducing a unique concept.
To mark the end of the negotiations, Father Arthur established a ritual: a gargantuan menu including an impressive series of thirteen plates was served to the guests.
When the last plate was cleared, it meant the negotiations were officially closed. This practice, although pragmatic, quickly became an emblematic tradition of the Hôtel de la Gare.
Over time, the restaurant's reputation grew, attracting diners looking for this unique experience.
Thus, to reflect the singular identity and memorable heritage of the establishment, Father Arthur decided to rename it with a name that evoked not only the history of the place but also the tradition of the thirteen plates: Hôtel Restaurant Les Treize Assiettes .
This is how our establishment, steeped in history and authenticity, has endured over the generations, offering our guests a gastronomic experience steeped in a unique tradition.
