2019/2021 La rétro "Lafage"

At the time of my father, we always harvested, at the beginning of October, grapes at the bottom of the hillsides which had matured less quickly than the other plots. These vines, often more vigorous and of different grape varieties, could not be used to produce sweet wines, which were then very popular in Roussillon; they were used to make the house wine. Lower in alcohol, with a lighter color but lots of fruit, this wine was a delight for family meals on a daily basis. It is this tradition that we wanted to recreate and share with you with La Rétro.

Vins Bio Dynamiques

En 1924, Rudolph STEINER (polytechnicien de l'école de Vienne), remarque un stress et un mal vivre dans les villes. Il attribue ce mal à une alimentation de mauvaise qualité. A la suite de ce constat, il réunit un groupe d'agriculteurs sensibilisés par ce problème à qui il fît huit conférences dont le but était de définir une nouvelle agriculture.

Ses principes sont les suivants :
- Amélioration du sol et de la plante par des préparations issues de matières végétales, animales et minérales ;
- Application de ces préparations à des moments précis en fonction des cycles de végétation de la vigne et en rapport avec le calendrier lunaire et planétaire ;
- Travail du sol par des labours et des griffonnages.

La Loire Volcanique

Mais qu'est-ce que la Loire Volcanique ? C'est au cœur du pays des volcans que se dessinent 4 terroirs qui composent ce vignoble. Celui de la Côte Roannaise, des Côtes Forez, des Côtes d'Auvergne et de Saint-Pourçain. L'Indication Géographique Protégée d'Urfé couvre l'ensemble de ce territoire identitaire qui marque effectivement le début de la région viticole de la Vallée de la Loire ; région qui longe ce fleuve mythique jusqu'au Pays Nantais.

La Loire Volcanique se caractérise par son lien étroit avec le fleuve, et le paysage montagnard et volcanique. Les sols riches en granites et en basaltes permettent de sublimer le cépage roi, le Gamay qui s'exprime ici dans toute sa splendeur.
